Easter Egg Hunt
@ Coconut Island, April 10, 2004 was a success. Sponsored by the Christmas Wish
Program.
Magin reports that
the Families at Puumaile do not want to move out. However, some families are
slowly moving out.
Pete Hendricks stated
a meeting with HPD/Care-A-Van was set for Thursday. Regarding personal goods
being confiscated and harassment. Tom Hering suggested if Care-A-Van can keep
personal goods that the police confiscate.
Healing our island

96 kids participated. Invitations went out to Puumaile families and EHCH families.
Christmas wish program
and Care-A-Van continues to support families with children and those in search for housing.
Lovi to verify with
Brandee when meeting is scheduled. Lovi to notify Tom/Pete. Lovi notified team that is not possible for Care-A-Van to store confiscated items due to liability.

Ignacio, Care-A-Van will continue to work towards the development of one-stop.
Tom Herring reports
90 singles being served.
Tom H. requested. Lovi & Brandee from CAV is Kona’s representative. Possible re-assigned in the future. |

East Hawaii up-date |
Downtown Improvement
Association. Groups of people who are loitering and displaying inappropriate
behaviors.
Care-A-Van have
received the contract for the Shelter Plus Care, “Kukui Program” |
DIA have been experiencing
an overwhelming amount of people still loitering at bus terminal and bandstand. Care-A-Van
have been outreaching in the area. Police Patrol continues however, no solutions
are available to remedy the situation
FYI-contract was
received. More information to follow. |

Strategic Planning
– Developing the Hawaii Island’s Priorities and merging it into the Continuum of Care – State wide plan |
Due to small turn
out. County of Hawaii’s Plan was reviewed.

It was requested
for all to review and input information that they would like to add. Information
to: Island description, input the current homeless study 2003 survey, Tom H.
will give information on St Michael’s pantry, etc. Family Support Services,
